Network objectives and services:


Objectives:

 
  • Development of exchanges among professionals (social workers. doctors, psychologists, sociologists...) from the different European countries in order to improve the quality of interventions in the fìeld of drug use/misuse;
  • Promotion of an ethic that considers drug users/misusers as fuII part citizens;
  • Encouragment of clinical, social and political conceptions which give priorlty to the respect of the dignity of the person, their individuai and collective liberties, as well as their access to care;
  • Acknowledgement of institutions and professionals in prevention and care, as active partners on the elaboration and application of a European policy to drug problems;
  • Contribution to the expansion in Europe of research, studies and training in what concerns prevention, help and care to drug userslmisiisers.

  European drug workers, members of the national associations participating in ERIT;
European professionals and agencies working in the fìeld of drug use/misuse

  • Several working groups are operating within the ERIT structure.The sublects addressed by these groups relate to ERIT priorities, considering the actual state of the art of European drug use/misuse interventions;
  • Assessment of medical, psychological and socio-educational interventions on drug use/misuse;
  • Quality assesment and quality control on drug intervention, in out-patient and in-patient care (therapeutic communities);
  • European study on professional interventions in harm reduction;
  • Primary prevention for adolescent drug users;
  • Creation of an ERIT section on each national scientific revue;
  • lmprovement of ERIT website.
